SAT News

April 7, 2017

It's really happening--for the first time in decades, the SAT will be offered during the summer. The August 26, 2017 test date will allow students to prep during the school break and before applications are due.  The earlier test will offer seniors the chance to take the SAT twice before early action and early decision deadlines and allow them to prep without the distractions and stresses of senior year school work.

Not to be outdone, the ACT folks are planning to offer a summer test date beginning in July 2018.

It all sounds unusually sane to us.  Bravo!

In other testing news, the College Board has taken steps to make it easier to arrange for testing accommodations.  The upshot:  instantaneous approval for kids who already receive and use accommodations at their school and submit their request through their school’s SSD coordinator.  Pinch us, please!
