College Admissions Essay Workshop

What are college admissions officers really looking for?  They want to feel confident that you will succeed at their school and make a contribution to their campus.  While your GPA and test scores tell part of the story, the college application essay is the single best opportunity to show them who you really are and why you'll be an asset to their college.  Make your essay count.

A good essay takes time and, chances are, you'll have three or four or ten to compose before admissions season is over.  So do yourself a favor--start early!  College Fit 360's You'll-Thank-Us-Later-For-Pushing-You-To-Do-This-Over-The-Summer College Admissions Essay Workshop will take you from start to edited draft in three sessions held over the course of one week.

With two instructors and a small group format, participants receive individualized attention at a fraction of the cost of one-on-one consulting.

Workshop content will include:

  • How this essay is different

  • Essays that have worked

  • Idea generation

  • Review of each student’s ideas

Generate 5 "quality" ideas

  • Values analysis

  • Storytelling

  • Outlining

  • Audience "grabbers"

Compose a draft – email to instructors prior to next meeting
One-on-one review of edited drafts with each student

"My son applied to thirteen schools.  EVERY letter he received referenced what a great essay he had.  I know if he hadn't worked with College Fit 360, that would not be the case!"
