Trinity College Goes Holistic-er
Trinity is a small, liberal arts college in Hartford, Connecticut, that prides itself on its low student to professor ratio and extensive list of innovative multi-disciplinary majors. Recently, Trinity made some cool changes. In addition to making test scores optional, which more and more schools are doing, Trinity will be asking high school counselors to evaluate students on a list of attributes they feel are strong indicators of a student’s potential success. A few of the attributes are: optimism, persistence, grit, and creativity. With this move, Trinity is attempting to expand the meaning of an “holistic approach.” We’re sure that this move will spark questions and controversy, but we applaud Trinity in attempting to change the status quo.
