It's Not Too Late to Apply

In a normal year, the UC and Cal State applications are due at the end of November and many other schools have regular decision deadlines in January. But because this year was not normal, many schools, including the UCs and CSUs extended their deadlines. A number of Cal State campuses are extending their dates yet again, past the December 15 extension. Deadlines and restrictions vary by campus, but there are several CSUs still open to applications for fall 2021: Channel Islands, Chico, Dominguez Hills, East Bay, Humboldt, Los Angeles, Maritime, Monterey Bay, Pomona, Sacramento, San Bernardino, San Francisco, San Jose, San Marcos, Sonoma, and Stanislaus. Check campus websites for details.

What you may not know is that, even in the most non-pandemic of times, there are many colleges that accept applications for fall 2021 throughout the spring and into the summer. A few of the late deadline schools include Ithaca (February), University of LaVerne (April), University of Hawaii (May), and Portland State (August).

Click here for a list of colleges with later deadlines published by BigFuture.org. We can’t guarantee accuracy of this list, however. So, if any of the colleges on it interest you, you MUST double check the school’s own website.

In addition, here is the grid with all application deadlines for schools that use the Common App. In the column labeled RD/Rolling you can see which schools have later or rolling admissions deadlines. Again, however, we urge you to check with the individual colleges.
